The clock stopped without a sound.
No ticking.
No gentle movement of the hands.
Just silence, thick and heavy.
Lumi noticed it immediately.
Time always moved in her world—
sometimes fast, sometimes slow,
but never completely still.
As she leaned closer to the old clock tower,
a faint metallic flutter echoed from inside.
From between the gears,
a tiny fairy emerged.
Her wings were made of thin brass plates,
her dress woven from silver springs,
and her eyes shone like polished glass.
“I am the Clockwork Fairy,” she said softly.
“I keep time from breaking.”
The fairy explained that time itself was fragile.
When moments were ignored,
rushed,
or treated as endless,
the gears inside the world slowly wore down.
This clock had stopped because
