No sparkling spells drifted through the air,

Lumi sat on the edge of her window,
her feet dangling above the sleeping town.
Her wand rested quietly beside her,
as if it too was tired.
“I don’t feel very magical tonight…”
she whispered, unsure why her chest felt so heavy.
The moon hung high in the sky,
round and pale,
watching her without judgment.
So Lumi talked.
About the days she smiled even when she was tired.
